When our friends at Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits came to Crystal Signature Events wanting to host a product showcase for their management team with a Hawaiian theme, our culinary and events professionals found numerous ways to infuse the theme into every aspect of the event.
Southern Glazer's is one of the largest wine and spirits distributors in America, supplying known national brands as well as boutique wineries and distilleries. Their operations span across 45 locations throughout the United States, including Indianapolis. And as a vendor partner of Crystal’s, we’re able to accommodate an array of wine and spirit requests by our clients.
Southern Glazer’s wanted a venue that was unique, centrally located, and versatile enough to transform into a tropical paradise for their 150 VIPs, and Crystal’s Crane Bay Event Center expertly fit the bill.
The goal of the event was to allow Southern Glazer’s guests to learn about their new products for research and development purposes, while networking with each other. To ensure there was plenty of time for conversation and moving and mingling throughout the space, the client worked with Crystal’s team to develop food stations.
Here are four ways Crystal brought their tropical vision to life through menu design.
A unique historic element of Crane Bay are the actual cranes from the venue’s time as a train engine factory. They’ve been restored, cleaned up, and incorporated into not only the aesthetic of the building but the function of it as well. Appetizers like Watermelon Ceviche, a Crystal summer favorite, hung from Crane Bay’s famously suspended chandeliers in easy single-serve dishes.
To ensure there were event-themed dishes for every taste, Crystal’s culinary team created six different entree stations spread throughout the venue. Favorites of the evening included the
A small bite dessert wall kept the event flowing and featured Candied Key Lime Pie Tarts, Coconut Pie Tarts, and Salted Caramel Ganache Cake Shooters with a Pretzel Crumble.
With the client being a wine and spirit distributor, and the evening celebrating the debut of new products, we couldn’t forget the drinks! Crystal worked with Southern Glazer’s to incorporate their own products into the themed signature cocktails, including a Blue Hawaiian specialty featuring Blue Raspberry Smirnoff and a Vita Coco floater.
